I’m skeptical but excited about the promise of Wikis. I’m currently listening to The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki to get a better idea about the idea of group intelligence.

While I’m skeptical about relying wholeheartedly on wikis like Wikipedia, I can see the merit in using a wiki as a supplement to other learning. In light of that, I’m really excited about Wiki Book’s Introduction to French. I’m not sure I’ll have much time to check it out over the holidays; my family doesn’t have internet. But it does seem like a good resource for the beginner who wants a reading knowledge of French.
